The 2009 Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival is in full swing showcasing 50 days of world-class thoroughbred racing in a party atmosphere unlike any other sporting event in Australia.

Incorporating 85 race meetings across Victoria, more than 758,000 people attended the Spring Racing Carnival which injects over $549 million into the Victorian economy. The BMW Caulfield Cup at Caulfield, Tatts Cox Plate at Moonee Valley and Emirates Melbourne Cup at Flemington are the major highlights of the carnival and whilst they are the cream of the crop, one must not forget about venues such as Ararat, Avoca, Ballarat, Benalla, Bendigo, Cranbourne, Donald, Dunkeld, Geelong, Kyneton, Mansfield, Manangatang, Moe, Murtoa, Sale, Seymour and Mt. Whycheproof.
